The Many Challenges of the GACE Exam

The GACE Exam in Georgia is a subject that many students want to know about. Here's some insight:

Georgia’s future teachers have enough to worry about. Between final exams, homework, part-time jobs, and getting ready for your internship, students have little time to stress about taking their teaching exams.

The GACE is required for all new teachers in the state of Georgia. It was developed to ensure that prospective teachers understand the core concepts needed to be effective in the classroom. Yes, budding math teachers need to write essays, and future literature teachers need to know geometry.

This exam covers basic skills imperative to a successful teaching career. It does not test specific subjects like science or history but passing the GACE is crucial to your teaching career. Georgia will not grant you a license without a passing score on this exam or an approved equivalent. In some cases, Georgia colleges will not allow you to graduate without a passing score on the GACE!

Picture the cost of having to take another semester of college because you failed the GACE. Imagine being rejected from the Georgia Department of Education licensing board because your score was not high enough to pass. With a mandatory waiting period of 30 days and the cost of retaking the exam, failing even once can delay your career by months. The bottom line: You can’t afford to fail even a single section of the GACE.

So what do you do? First, you develop a plan to prepare for the GACE so you can pass it the first time. You can either choose books or web review programs, but it's recommended you consider at least one or the other to ensure passing the exam. There are many good websites out there right now, and many include money-back guarantees that you'll pass the exam. Because most students will take the exam on a computer, I think the web approach is best. Plus it helps save a tree or two. Whatever you do, take the GACE seriously and you should be fine. Good luck!

  1. Thanks for the wonderful information. I really appreciate your knowledge and passion for the test, I remember when I started GACE test preparation one year ago than I was scared on that time but reading a lot of GACE study guides make me comfortable about the test. I scored good in the exam and currently studying in teaching University. I would like to know about way you prepare your vocabulary and general English section because only this one take a lot of time.
